Spring Youth Baseball is excited to announce it will be entering its 61st season as Spring Youth Baseball with a New Board of Directors. We’d like to thank the previous Board for their hard work. The new Board of Directors will be looking at partnership opportunities, however the merger with the South Troy Dodgers will not be occurring at this time, and we look forward to an exciting 2016 season of community based baseball. Spring will continue to offer House League, affiliated with Cal Ripken Baseball and Competitive Travel baseball opportunities for children from age 4 to 13. Jim Francis, a Troy resident, is the new Spring Youth Baseball President. Jim brings over a decade of experience at all levels of SYB, Jim has been a tireless volunteer. You may not know Jim but if you have been to the field in the last 10 years you’ve definitely met him. The New Board also is comprised of three Vice Presidents who have been elected to assist in the many responsibilities of running a not-for-profit organization. Mark Galuski, a Troy Native and recent Troy Hall of Fame inductee is Vice President for House. Mark brings decades of coaching experience to Spring and we are honored to have him on the Board. Sean Tuckey, a Troy resident and a recent ValleyCats Home Run Community Hero Award Winner, will be overseeing Travel portion of Spring Youth Baseball. Lastly, Paul Litz, a community staple has agreed to come back in an advisory role to assist the new Board based on his experience. One of the new Board’s focuses will be on transparency, with all interested parties being invited to the monthly Board Meetings that are held the First Tuesday of every month at 6:30 at the Fields. There will also be an “Open House” from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on 12/08, to meet the coaches, sign up for the 2016 season, and answer any questions families may have .
